Brief overview of role
You will be an innovative and results driven fundraiser able to raise vital funds through identifying, approaching and securing major donations for a Sunday Times Top 20 Charity
A Sunday Times Top 20 Charity that helps those in need around the UK
You will have responsibility for delivering the charities growing major donor programme, working externally and across the organisation to ensure every opportunity is maximized. You will be responsible for identifying, agreeing and planning the approach of HNWIs to raise vital funds for the charity to an agreed annual target.
Identify, research and approach prospective new major donors to meet agreed targets;
Provide the Chief Executive/Directors/senior level volunteers with the donor insight and cultivation structure so they can build relationships with major donors;
Personally steward an agreed number of active donors/prospective donors towards further gifts/new gifts;
Project manage Development Board(s) meetings and major donor events (including third party events) to meet agreed income targets.
Allocate work and provide development opportunities for staff and volunteers reporting to you to inspire them and ensure effective performance;
Accountable for the analysis and evaluation of Major Donor Fundraising;
Ensure the delivery of high quality regular updates, reports and a range of ways to engage with the charitys work/projects to ensure they feel informed, thanked and recognised;
Ensure high quality data is inputted and supporter records are maintained in line with the charitys Data Protection Policy. NB We use NXT/Raisers Edge;
Provide oversight to suppliers and agencies working on behalf of the organisation to ensure fundraising regulation and the charitys ethical policy are adhered to
At least three years experience in Major Donor fundraising, with a proven track record in developing significant relationships and exceeding fundraising targets;
Experience in developing and monitoring the implementation of fundraising strategies, budgets and operational plans;
Experience with NXT/Raisers Edge or similar fundraising database;
Previous major donor stewardship or responsibility for large scale fundraising events.
