Redex Recruitment are currently working with an international wholesale business based in Leyton, East London. Due to a recent change within the finance department they now require an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team on a full time basis.

Working hours are 9am - 5:30pm (Monday - Friday) although flexible for the right person. Position reports directly to the Chief Accountant and your duties will include:

  • Coding, processing and recording purchase invoices in multi currency and multi company ledgers.Processing and analysing employee expenses and credit card statements.

  • Maintaining the sales ledgers and credit control. Sending monthly statements and copy invoices as required. Generating journals within the ledgers. Generating sales invoices

  • Reconciling nominal ledger inter-company accounts and others as required

  • Recording and verifying all bank entries on the sales, purchase and nominal ledgers. Initiating payments via bank transfer, BACS and cheque. Daily cash reporting with continuous bank reconciliations. Ad hoc analysis

  • Answering phones in an open office environment. Ordering/maintaining stationery. Franking post

Alongside the accounts duties you will also be responsible for the some of the shipping aspects which includes:

  • Preparing sales invoices. Progressing shipments to ensure all relevant documents have been obtained and are sent to the customers on a timely basis. Preparing/obtaining relevant shipping documents including Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, Packing Lists and others. Tracking shipments and advising management and customers appropriately.
