Job Summary

We are a medium sized specialty metals distribution and manufacturing centre requires an Electrical and Mechanical maintenance engineer.
The role will involve working with a variety of machines in support of continuous operation.
Focused on the introduction of a highly effective preventative maintenance system to prevent unscheduled outages, along with site maintenance.
This role reports to the Operations Manager and has full suit maintenance responsibility.

Job Description
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Electrical and Mechanical maintenance of machine, tools and all other equipment including a 5 axis CNC machine, Waterjet Cutting machine, cranes, wood and metals saws, and FLTs.
• Take a key role in the introduction of preventative and predictive maintenance schedules for all equipment,
• Overseeing of major maintenance and capital projects geared towards improving plant efficiency and material flows,
• You will be required to understand electrical / mechanical systems, be able to diagnose problems, perform safety & quality risk assessments and effect repairs safely and quickly,
• Assess the root cause of plant failures and put in place measures to prevent recurrence,
• Identify critical spares requirements,
• Integrate Business Systems principles into working practices
• Utilise maintenance management systems for generation of maintenance schedules, logging of work & closure of work orders and generation of reports that indicate departmental performance
• Work at all time to a high level of health and safety awarerness.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• A relevant vocational qualification e.g. NVQ, HNC, HND, ONC, C&G or an appropriate apprenticeship.
• ONC/HNC
• Experience working with CNC machines in a metals environment,

Demonstrable
• A good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
• PC literate
• Good standard of numeracy and literacy
• Exemplary timekeeping and attendance
