Quantity Surveyor Salary up to £50k depending on experience + car or car allowance

A leading Main Contractor has a requirement for a Quantity Surveyor to join the expanding commercial site teams in the West Midlands.

As the Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspect of schemes, from the site start-up to the final account. You will seek to manage project costs and enhance value as part of the site team, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

Main Duties will include:

• Preparing plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
• On-site measurement and measurement of drawings as required
• Identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control
• Feasibility studies of clients requests
• Preparation of Subcontracts
• Analysing sub-contractors quotations
• Preparation and agreeing variation accounts
• Preparation and agreeing of interim valuations and final accounts
• Prepare and issue certification for contract payments to sub-contractors
• Providing evidence for resolution of disputes
• Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedure

The successful Quantity Surveyor will have:

• Qualified with a BSc (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
• Chartered Member of the RICS, working towards such accreditation, or qualified by experience.
• You will came from a main contractor background and have worked on new build projects in either industrial, commercial, healthcare, retail and education between the values of £3 million to £20 million.
• Conversant in general aspects of quantity surveying such as contracts, estimating processes, measurement of quantities, valuations and final accounts.
• A well rounded understanding and experience of pre and post contract construction.
• Great interpersonal skills, an ability to communicate effectively (both internally and with Clients), and a willingness and determination to progress your career quickly
