Ahead Partnership delivers an exciting range of projects, from programmes of activities in schools to programmes that are designed to inspire young people on study programmes and those at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training).

Our innovative products include our award-winning education programme: Make the Grade, which enables schools, colleges and universities to improve employability for students through long-term, creative partnerships with business. Make the Grade focuses onbringing ideas and inspiration through real-life, hands-on experiences about future career paths to our young people. Due to the success of our programme across the region and the extension of our school and business contracts we’re recruiting to our Yorkshire development team.

The role

With an excellent customer focus and a sound understanding of volunteering/corporate partnerships you’ll work with our Development and Delivery teams to build and sustain strong relationships with local employers and regional stakeholders to improve the impact of our activities with children and young people in schools

As an ambassador for Ahead Partnership, you will proactively network and introduce new business volunteers to our education programmes across the West Yorkshire Region.

What you’ll do

-Be the key link in Ahead Partnership for all our stakeholders across the region, including local authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships and Chambers

-Recruit local business volunteers to engage in our school/college activities and events

-Showcase volunteering as a means of meeting Corporate Social Responsibility goals and attracting skills for businesses from a variety of sectors

-Support your local Business Development Manager as required with writing proposals, attending meetings and delivering presentations

-Actively attend networking events across the Yorkshire region, creating your own volunteer/corporate partnership (delete as appropriate) network and offering businesses the opportunity to enhance the career prospects of children and young people in education

-Be an ambassador for Ahead Partnership across Yorkshire, presenting and exhibiting at high profile events

-Build networks for target sector groups to help support the skills gaps in our regions

-Maximise opportunities for collaboration with organisations to develop innovative projects that will inspire and change the lives of young people.

-Support and deputise for members of the Development Team where appropriate

-Support the retention of existing clients, conducting reviews and feedback sessions with corporate partners

-Keep accurate contact records with all partners using our electronic systems

-Potential travel across the UK to meet other partners interested in our offer (mainly across Yorkshire).

Skills and experience you will need:

-The ability to build alliances, manage and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally

-Experience of recruiting and engaging volunteers, preferably from the corporate sector.

-Excellent planning and organisational skills

-A pro-active can-do attitude

-Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

-Experience of using Microsoft Office applications

-Solid report writing skills

-Excellent diplomacy skills where you can influence, collaborate and negotiate

-Experience of working in a customer-focused environment

-Experience of working under pressure and to targets

-Experience of cold-calling and sales

-Experience of business networking

-Experience of leading meetings

-Attention to detail

-A flexible and reliable approach

-The ability to work alone or in a team

-Positive teamworking skills

-Knowledge of the education/skills sector is desirable
