Our client HP Inc is a world-class IT technology manufacturer and a market leader across a wide range of IT products and services.
We are currently recruiting an experienced Business Analyst. You will be required to carry out estimates and pricing within their Print business. Candidates will be well versed in managing concurrent enquiries for projects, preparing estimates, tenders, quantifying materials and labour costing, as well as preparing schedules of rates, specifications and negotiating prices with suppliers and preparing and presenting tenders to customers.

Role Focus:

As a Business Analyst you will be focused on gathering requirements and designing solutions, working as part of an experienced team to liaise with both internal and external customers. Applicants will need to be well organised and have substantial drive and ambition. This role would suit someone who has worked within an IT environment.

Must Have:

-2 years experience in Sales/Financial analysis
-Very strong Excel and Data manipulation skills

Skills Required:

-Conducts and summarizes complex data and business analyses to develop business plans, including revenue, margin and demand projections for the UK&I PPS Consumer business.
-Constructs statistical and financial models with minimal direction to forecast business performance.
-Defines the metrics required to measure business performance, and compares actual data to forecasted values.
-Executes market research projects, gathers intelligence on current industry, technology, and consumer trends, and summarizes research findings tailored to business needs.
-Works with cross-functional teams to facilitate the data collection and performance measurement process, and escalates issues as necessary. -Makes contributions to research and analyses on priority projects within established guidelines
-Conducts quantitative and qualitative business models and analyses to contribute to large projects.

Interaction with HP colleagues:

-Provides PPS Consumer Sales Director & Business Planning Manager all sales data to drive weekly sales funnel reviews (Orders, Shipments, Sellout, WOS) for all Consumer RTM (Managed Retail, SMB, HP Store)
-Provides PPS Consumer Sales Director & Business Planning Manager with channel intelligence data and analysis to guide investment strategy: Share of business, ROI of marketing investments, addressable market, and growth partners.
-Supports Consumer Sales Director & Business Planning Manager with -Processes of management and review preparation.
-Provides ad hoc sales analysis whenever required.
-With sales and category managers deep dive market analysis on competitive and retailer landscape analysis
-Operates with Consumer Sales Director & Business Planning Manager revenue and margin forecasts.
-Provides PPS inputs to spec future tools and processes.
Advanced excel (please disclose that there will be an excel test on the day of the interview) & power point.
-Numerically driven (i.e. finance / economics / maths) or previous experience in similar analyst roles, and familiar with financial statements
-Previous experience with data bases (CSIS/Business Objects)
-Worked in an extensive team across sales /marketing / finance / internal order planners, and sometimes external business planners / buyers.
-Previous IT industry helps (consumer / retail)

Person Specification:

Typically 2 years experience in business analytics, strategy & planning, finance, or related functional area.


2.1 Or better Bachelor degree from a leading university, where the degree has been built upon an analytical foundation (e.g. maths, statistics, science, computer sciences, business management, accounting).

Knowledge and Skills Required :

-Strong knowledge of Excel, statistical analysis, and financial modelling.
-Demonstrated knowledge of research methodology and the ability to manage data requests.
-Strong analytical thinking, technical analysis, and data manipulation skills.
-Ability to learn and draw on new analytical techniques.
-Demonstrated business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Modelling / forecasting (revenue / sales / inventory / market projection)
-Variance analysis & working with account managers on execution analysis with commentary for senior management (at UK and EMEA level).
-Ad hoc account management support (pulling out info from database for business / account reviews.
-Quota deployment / quarterly business review
-Presenting weekly sales position to extensive consumer team (and support business planning manager in senior management reviews)
