A well established Children Services are now recruiting for Support Workers for their 3 to 8 bed Residential Care Homes in Uffculme (Cullompton), Devon. You will be supporting Children & Young People from 11 - 18 year olds who are Deaf. You will be trained on how to communicate with them using British Sign Language and will complete the BSL qualification.

Main Job Role:
- This is a professional parental role offering therapeutic / emotional support
- Work together in a team to help get them up in the mornings to putting them to bed at night
- Get involved in preparing & helping them with meals (Breakfast, dinner and lunch)
- Support them out in the community
- Get stuck in with their daily 121 / group activities - bowling, going for a walk, education activities...
- Assist, help & support with personal care

Qualifying candidates:
- Have life, paid, personal or voluntary experience in care (any sector / setting)
- Must have a manual driving license with your own vehicle
- Must 21 years old or over
- To get the higher pay rate, you MUST have British Sign Language (BSL) qualification

Contract / Terms:
- Salary with sleepins = £20,064.00 - £22,005.60 per annum (£8 - £8.65 an hour)
- Unqualified candidates will be on £16,800.00 salary per annum (£8 an hour)
- Qualified candidates in British Sign Language (BSL1) will be on £17,115.60 (£8.15 an hour)
- Qualified candidates in British Sign Language (BSL2) will be on £17,640.00 (£8.40 an hour)
- Qualified candidates in British Sign Language (BSL3) will be on £18,165.60 (£8.65 an hour)
- Sleepins are paid at £32 per sleep = £3,840 per annum
- You will work 10 shifts per month (24.5 hours shifts)
- Shifts times are: 10am - 12am (sleepin) 7am - 10:30am (17.5 hours work & 7 hours sleepin)
- Monthly shift patterns will be:
WEEK 1: Monday, Wednesday and Saturday
WEEK 2: Tuesday, Friday and Sunday
WEEK 3: Thursdays
WEEK 4: Monday, Wednesday and Saturday
