Are you an experience personable Registered Manager from a children’s residential background, who is looking to work for a top care organisation and still feel valued for the work you do? Look no further, I am recruiting on behalf of my Nottingham based client for a passionate Registered Manager, who is looking to make a difference and progress within a business. This outstanding 6 bed facility supports the vulnerable young children with emotional and behavioral difficulties with cases of sexual exploitation.

Working 40 hours per week + on call duties, this permanent opportunity offers a salary of £34,000 - £40,000 + discretionary bonuses and a discounted car. This opportunity would best suit someone who has a personal touch to care and looks to immerse themselves in the home.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Registered Manager:
• Overall responsibility for the management and leadership of the Children’s Home
• Ensure young people receive excellent levels of emotional and physical care, within a home that offers a safe, nurturing and comfortable environment
• Lead and manage both employees and resources to ensure high standards of service
• Manage the budget for the home, ensuring value for money is achieved
• Comply with all statutory / legislative requirements.
• Comply with the Company’s policies and procedures
• Monitor and control expenditure
• Monitor the young person’s spending of their allowances.
• Authorise and monitor items purchased for the home.
• Investigate and report any financial irregularities appropriately.
• Recruit high calibre employees
• Drive a high engagement culture and facilitate a positive
• Manage people matters and challenging situations, such as discipline, grievance, capability, and absence
• Performance management, including supervision and appraisals
• To manage staff rotas
• Promote the Practice of working in partnership with our young people, their families and other professional agencies
• Arrange admissions of young people to the home in line with Company policy and procedure.
• Ensure that the care and well-being of the young people is maintained
• Ensure that all young people receive appropriate medical, dental and other ancillary care in line with care plans.
• Encourage, stimulate and participate in social activities.
• Meet with Social Workers to develop, review and act upon individual care plans.

Essential requirements of the Registered Manager:
• AT LEAST 2 years’ experience in a managerial role within a children’s residential setting.
• Must have the full registration process and declared fit by OFSTED.
• A sound working knowledge of the statutory requirements associated with the residential care of young people. To include Children’s’ Homes Regulations, Health and Safety legislation etc.
• A management qualification of at least or equivalent to Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social care for Children and Young people.
• Proven people management skills within a residential setting, including motivating, directing, delegating.
• Proven organisational and financial management skills.
