Location: Kings Cross

Document packages used: BIW/Conject

As a document controller you will be required to assist the project team in the management and implementation of the document control systems. You will be required to start storing folders, drawings into folders created by yourself.

The main duties of the Document Controller position will be:

* Format and generate reports from the Business Collaborator DMS when required
* Modify the fields and databases/folder structure/automatic reporting/screen layouts of BIW/Conject
* Circulation as required via BIW/Conject of all drawings and documents for information/comment and approval
* Issuing of all documents to the client
* Enter details of and scan technical documents and correspondence into the Document Database as soon as they are received (technical documents include drawings (preliminary and working), all Submission data, design changes, site requests, certificates, permits and related method statements, plans, procedures and other documents considered relevant
* Copy and distribute drawings, specifications, schedules, design changes etc.
* Marking up superseded documents both on the hard copy and on the Document Register and filing superseded documents
* Filing technical documents after registering and distribution
* Produce transmittal notes for any documents that require them. Checking acknowledgements of transmittals on a regular basis and chased up as necessary
* Supervise use of the plan printer and ensure adequate stocks of paper and toner are maintained. Organise call-out of the service engineer in the event of faults
* Monitor the action close out function of the DMS and report on the close-out of the actions
* Fill in order forms as required and organise external printing as and when necessary

Candidate requirements

* Experience of BIW/Conject
* Experience of working on a major project an advantage
* The following qualities/experience are desirable:
* Team player
* Excellent communication skills
