Business Development Manager - Facilities Management sector (Hard FM)

Location: Flexible, either based within the local office or working from home as the role will entail you managing your own diary and covering the UK

Previous experience working with the UK Facilities Management Sector, largely hard services

We have a requirement for a Business Development Manager to cover the UK, working with a leading Building & Facilities Management contractor.

They are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager who can essentially break into new markets as well as building upon their existing target markets which are largely within the public sector, such as healthcare and Education.

The Requirements

For this role, you must have significant business development experience within the UK Facilities management sector (preferably within hard services). Responsibilities include identifying new contract opportunities in the current market. Working as a member of a well-established business development team, you will be integral in identifying and developing opportunities and support through to delivery phase.

We really need someone with a proactive, innovative and enthusiastic attitude to grow the business in different sectors throughout the UK as well as being a 'team player' with excellent organisational and communication skills.

Significant experience of the FM market is essential.

You will be expected to demonstrate a firm understanding of FM service delivery and communicate effectively with
client stakeholders, including technical. An understanding of University, Local Authority and Health sectors is essential for this role.

Their objectives are to create more bidding opportunities within University, Local Authority and Health sectors as a starting point, however, if you have contacts within banks and retailers etc, the business would look at expanding into these areas in addition.

This role has arisen purely due to the growth of the existing business.

The Role:

Your principal objective will be to identify and develop opportunities within the aforementioned sectors above.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity you must be able to demonstrate a successful track record within business development, this includes effective and long-term relationship building, networking, producing and implementing marketing and sales strategies and working in partnership with the supply chain to successfully deliver proposals and secure contracts.

Specific Duties:

* Identifying project opportunities
* Supporting the coordination, preparation, and review of pre-qualification submissions
* Lead presentations to clients
* Support key bids/tenders including providing client insight
* Support the mobilisation of contracts including a seamless transition from bid phase to delivery phase
* Represent the business at industry events
* Monitor and follow up on press, trade publications, OJEU notices and website tender opportunities

It would be very helpful if you were a member of a few relevant forums / professionall bodies as this will ultimately add to the gravitas which is required for this position.
