Assistant Branch Manager – Stoke on Trent – Salary 26/28k

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, commercially-minded and diligent individual as Assistant Branch Manager. This rapidly growing business stocks a broad portfolio of building supplies so experience of working in a builder’s merchants or similar is essential. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with both your team and customers to ensure that always delivers the highest level of service.

You will be involved in every operational aspect of business, from driving sales and increasing profit, through to generating new customers and coordinating promotional activity.

Key responsibilities and duties:

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong experience of selling within the building industry and be a motivational people manager.

• Customers always receive consistently exceptional service in order to drive high customer satisfaction ratings.
• Your team is highly trained and motivated.
• New custom is continuously generated.
• Daily, weekly and monthly sales are accurately reported.
• A smooth and efficient operation is run and stock management is effectively coordinated.
• All employees are appropriately trained and the branch is a safe and enjoyable place to work.

Experience of working in a builder’s merchants is essential, along with:

• Account management, including the generation, management and coordination of sales leads.
• Strong people management.
• Commercial understanding of the market and competitor activity.
• Excellent communication, time management, planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Self-motivation, along with the ability to motivate a team and make timely decisions.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation.
• Computer literate with good MS Office skills (Excel, Word and Outlook).
A minimum of 3 years’ sales and management experience. A valid, full drivers licence
