Safety, Heath & Environment Advisor required to be based in Huddersfield. This is a permanent opportunity to work with a leading Asset Management company in a growing Safety, Health & Environment team and would suit someone who is just who is wanting to further their career within Construction, Refurbishment and Facilities Managemnt.

This is an exciting opportunity, to join a Professional Services organisation delivering multi-disciplinary consultancy on varied and exciting projects including construction and refurbishment, across various industry sectors (Health, Education, Infrastructure, Accommodation and MoD), predominately within a PFI/PPP and FM environment, supporting their clients in implementing the requirements of CDM 2015.

This will include providing construction, design and management health and safety consultancy services, audits, site inspections, and general supporting advice.

Ideally candidates must have some knowledge of, or experience in the delivery of CDM duties either individually or part of a team, as a CDM Advisor and/or as a Principal Designer, having preferably worked on multiple projects. The role will include on the job training and mentoring from professionals who have been in the Health & Safety Industry for over 13 years.

Candidates must have a qualification in an associated technical discipline, as a minimum must hold a Health & Safety Related Qualification, such as NEBOSH (General, Construction & Fire), NVQ or Degree. The candidate must hold or be working towards Tech IOSH or IMaPS.

Summary

* NEBOSH (Construction, General or Fire) and Tech IOSH or working towards as a minimum or IMaPS.
* Knowldge of CDM 2015 is essential.

Job Role

* As a H&S / CDM Advisor/Principal Designer you must plan, manage and monitor the pre-construction phase and coordinate matters relating to health and safety.
* Fully integrate with the design team, attend design and project meetings and look to receive all design information electronically.
* As a CDM Advisor/Principal Designer you must identify and eliminate or control (so far as is reasonably practicable) foreseeable risks to health or safety of any person carrying out or likely to be affected by construction works, maintaining or cleaning a structure or using a structure designed as a workplace.
* You are responsible for the development of a project specific H&S risk building register that can be reviewed and monitored as the project progresses.
* You are to assist the Client in the provision of the pre-construction information, provide this information promptly and in a convenient form to the project team and contractor appointed.
* You will liaise with the PC at regular intervals throughout the construction phase and progress the collation of information for the health and safety file.
* As PD you must prepare a health and safety file appropriate to the characteristics of the project and hand it over to the Client on project completion.
* As a CDM Advisor you will be responsible for delivering health and safety services to clients in line with work instructions ensuring that services are maintained to the highest standards.
* To work in collaboration with other professional services to ensure clients are serviced and visited in accordance with contractual obligations and that costs to deliver is minimised without compromising quality of service.
* To work effectively within the SHE Department in completing visits and outstanding services in order to meet contractual obligations.
* As a minimum, holding or working towards Tech IOSH status or at a similar level with another recognised professional body (such as IMaPS).
* The work will involve traveling to meetings and construction sites around the United Kingdom, as such, a full UK driving license is essential.

Requirements

* NEBOSH Construction, General or Fire Certificate and working towards Tech IOSH as a minimum
* Experience within the construction or facilities management industry is essential
* Knowledge of CDM 2015 is essential
