An exciting senior commercial MQS role has come to fruition this week for a respected medium sized main contractor based in the Southampton region.

They have proven track record in the delivery of small new build and refurbishment works up to the value of 5 million. They operate right across southern counties undertaking three main areas of work including hotel and leisure, education and office fit outs.

You will be joining a friendly and thriving business reporting to the Commercial Director. Ideally you will be an existing Managing Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity already responsible for managing a small team Quantity Surveyors.

The requirement of this position is to provide management support to a team of 2 Quantity Surveyors at the same time be responsible for running up to two projects. Responsibilities will include managing and supporting surveyor, CVRs, preparation of tenders documents, sub contract and materials procurement, preparation of budget costings and valuation of project variations and maximising profit.

The successful applicants will have several years experience in a similar role, be well organised with good presentation skills and have the ability to communicate professionally at all levels.

Proven track record of 5-10 years of work in a similar position would be advantageous with JCT Design & Build exp.

Experience and qualifications required
Degree Qualified in either Quantity surveying or Construction Management.
Minimum 10 years' experience working for a Main Contractor.
Must have led a team of more than 2 Quantity Surveyors previously.
Must have a real eye for the finer details.
