Digital Communication Officer
A local council in South East London is looking to recruit a Digital Communication Officer on an initial 3 months contract.
Purpose of the role:
* To maintain and enhance the Council's digital communications presence - including social media accounts - ensuring this is aligned to the Council's vision, objectives, corporate campaigns and other relevant public messaging.

* To provide a best in class digital communications service for the council, including use of social media and other digital channels.

* To support the development and implementation of integrated social media campaigns that inform, help to change behaviour, engage and improve perceptions of the borough and the council, ensuring evaluation is built in.

* To work effectively across the Communications and Campaigns team to ensure digital communications is integrated in all relevant communications and campaigns activity

Successful candidates will have the following:
* Sound experience of developing, implementing and evaluating successful social media campaign plans.

* Experience of working on content management systems and website analytics programmes such as Google Analytics as well as email marketing services such as GovDelivery.

* Experience of managing contracts with email marketing suppliers.

* Demonstrable experience in generating new and creative ideas.

* Professional qualification or equivalent experience in digital communications.

* Relevant experience running social media campaigns.

* Providing high quality digital communications advice to officers.

* Experience of working effectively with others to deliver collaborative projects on time and to budget, meeting overall objectives.

* Keeps abreast of social media marketing and other digital developments and uses this knowledge to improve services.

* Excellent content writer with the ability to write clear, concise and timely content.

* Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure and to deadlines.

* Analytics data evaluation skills using Google Analytics or other similar tools.

* An effective communicator - able to speak and write confidently, and persuasively, including ability to deliver presentations.

* Politically astute.

* Keeps abreast of campaign and communication developments and knows how to incorporate them into work when appropriate.

* Understand and be committed to the Council's equal opportunities policies.
