Ideally 2-3 years min in a Pharmaceutical Account Management/business development role

Ideally contract pharmaceutical experience

powerpoint MS project and SAP are essential.


To manage the relationship between the Company and the customers by developing and maintaining appropriate communications, monitoring performance ensuring accounts remain viable and recognising and developing opportunities for growth. Additionally ensuring that customer service is maintained to the appropriate standard. To manage a small team of direct reports

General responsibilities

* Management and development of the customer - Company relationship, acting as each customers representative on site.
* Making sure that customer business strategies are understood and reflected in ongoing decision making.
* Maintaining an up-to-date awareness of customers business aims and strategies in order to anticipate potential changes in customers portfolio of products, and recognising potential opportunities for increased levels of business.
* Identifying and quoting for customer new product enquiries in conjunction with other team members.
* Negotiation and agreement with customers regarding contracts, pricing levels based on information prepared by, and discussed with financial department.
* Problem solving on behalf of customers and the company, and anticipating issues.
* Formal document generation and management to include contracts, new product introduction, project briefs and quotations.
* Key Account planning, e.g. examining whether existing client(s) and product(s) continue to fit into the site portfolio in line with overall strategy.
* Responsible for forecasting of customers business with a 1-24 month horizon.
* Further forecasting looking over a five year horizon is also undertaken, in support of the annual Business Planning process.
* Identifying commercial opportunities and contacts.
* Formal business presentations to customers and potential customers.
