Are you looking to work within a London Borough assisting with Policy related matters? My client based in South West London is currently looking to recruit a Senior Policy officer for an intial 6 month contract.

The suitable candidate would:

* Undertake a wide variety of work such as site visits, evidence gathering, analysis, policy formulation and community / stakeholder consultation in preparation of taking a Local Plan through to formal adoption.
* The post will involve close working with officers from across the Council, Members and external stakeholders, mainly on the Housing Zone projects.

The successful candidate would need to have:

* experience in providing pre-application advice and comments on planning applications is essential,
* experience in dealing with green and social infrastructure policy matters such as open space, protected species, biodiversity, playing pitches, play spaces, school places, etc., is desirable,
* experience in dealing with waste policy matters is desirable,
* a good understanding and up-to-date knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy guidance, an
* previous experience within in a London Borough is desirable.

The contact would be for an initial 6 months with a view to extend paying between £24- £31 per hour (Negotiable for the right candidate)
