Zest Scientific sales recruitment is partnered with a renowned global provider of Analytical Instrumentation for surface chemistry measurements who is continuing to grow their European operation. We have been tasked to identify a candidate with a technical background in Materials Science / Chemistry with technical sales experience to undertake responsibility for sales across the UK. Zest Scientific are also interested in discussing this role with technically accomplished candidates with a background relating to Surface Chemistry or Materials Science who are looking to develop a career in Technical Sales. It is essential that applicants are located within commuting distance of the Bristol office.

The Candidate:

* A Scientist with a background in surface / interfacial tension, contact angle or foam analysis who are seeking a technical sales role.
* Alternatively, we welcome applications from candidates with an academic background in Chemistry or Materials Science with a track record in a Technical Sales.
* Please note a large proportion of the successful applicant's working week will be split between working in the field visiting customers and at the Bristol facility.

The Role:

* The Scientific Sales Engineer will identify opportunities across a diverse selection of target industries which includes Pharmaceuticals, Biotech, Cosmetics, Academia, Microelectronics and Automotive.
* This is an applications based sales role and it is essential that you are able to understand the customer's requirements / application needs and ultimately craft a solution.
* The Scientific Sales Engineer will manage the entire sales process: prospecting, demonstration of instruments, preparing sales proposals / tender documentation, overseeing the management of the Demo lab.
* This is a highly autonomous role and in order to succeed in the role the individual will need to be self motivated, entrepreneurial, enterprising with excellent prioritisation and time management skills.
