The Business Development Manager is responsible for achieving monthly targets through generating new business in London. Working within a set geographical area the primary responsibility will be the arranging and conducting of lunch and Learn meetings, to Dental professionals. The role in addition will require the Business Development Manager to use all form of communication to promote all products.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. The prime Job Responsibility is to bring on new business both with individual private practices and small corporate chains
2. Achieve or exceed sales targets for promoted products within expenditure and
Promotional budgets.
3. To maximise sales of products in targeted Dental Practices by structured selling presentations and sales opportunity meetings with dentists and hygienists and to ensure that commitments to use product are converted into sales at every opportunity.
4. To conduct educational lunch and learn meetings in line with business needs (to be agreed by National sales manager).
5. The promotion of products to customers to comply with current promotional campaigns and company policies.
6. To conduct face to face selling discussions with at least 25 key contacts (dentists and hygienists) per week.
7. To proactively cold call a minimum of 7 dental practices per day to ensure a constant pipeline is being generated.
8. It is expected that the salesperson will hold a minimum 2 lunchtime (practice team) meetings per week.
9. To ensure all leads and lunch meeting enquiries passed on by the internal sales team are followed up and booked within 2 working day of being received.
10. Demonstrate at all times a level of professionalism that upholds the company standards.
11. To explore all opportunities for the sales of promoted products into the dental practice and ensure that customers are aware of any current volume discount offers.
12. Be responsible for updating the Customer Relationship Management database (CRM) with notes on any discussion with customers, or any other information that may be relevant.
13. Whilst the individual may have a defined geographical area or responsibility, from time to time they will be required to provide cover for other areas.
14. To work out of hours and at weekends, as reasonably appropriate, to attend meetings and exhibitions.
15. Adhere to Health and Safety policies and other requirements relating to care of equipment.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Minimum age 21 years
• Full UK/EU driving licence (maximum 6 points . no DD10)
• Previous experience in a London area field sales role is essential.
• Demonstrable understanding of the Sales Process, and in particularly closing skills, FAB selling, will be an important characteristic of the appointee.
• Must be adept in use of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, Internet and email.
• Previous use of CRM software desirable
• Able to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance

The jobholder will be numerate, will have an analytical mind, enthusiastic and have a strong determination to succeed and build a thriving territory. As a sales role the first importance is the development of new business, updating the sales system and processing of the correct information.
Complexity:

The nature of the job prevents daily contact with members of the jobholders own group and the jobholder works without daily supervision and thus requires a high degree of personal integrity and self-discipline. Toughness of mind and purpose and a high level of self-motivation are essential in a field sales role of this type. Critical self-analysis is essential for the jobholder to sustain and develop their business, territory management and selling skills.

Independent Thinking:
The jobholder will have to utilize a high level of self motivation, skill, diplomacy and resilience during face-to-face and group contact with members of the dental profession. Thereby generating sales of our products in order to meet territory sales targets. In addition they will have to organise and record a work plan to concentrate calling activity in areas of highest business potential. To be determined by analysis of territory data, local knowledge and promotional objectives under the direction of the National Sales Manager.
