Our client, a leading IT security company, are recruiting for a Business Development Executive to join their dynamic office in Reading.

This role is responsible for qualifying new business opportunities through web enquiries, marketing campaigns, events, and proactively contacting prospective clients through cold-calling and other methods.

* Qualify new business opportunities for the New Business sales team using Solution Selling techniques and capture a full understanding of the prospect's needs and pains
* Confidently present the company proposition to prospects and uncover new opportunities to the business through consultative questioning techniques
* Talk to IT decision makers and other key business stakeholders regarding relevant IT solutions including Cloud E-mail & Web security, as well as Data security, Insider Threat detection and analytics
* Ability to present webinars to prospects clearly and confidently
* Make outgoing calls to prospects - meet or exceed call out targets of dials and total talk-time
* Take prompt action on all inbound leads from the website, marketing campaigns and other sources within defined SLAs
* Proactively target new business in the UK through warm and cold calling using data provided by marketing, the New Business field sales teams and using all available prospecting tools
* Learn and present the company message, handle objections and explain business benefits
* Keep detailed and accurate notes of all sales related activities and schedule follow up activities as needed
* Collaborate closely with aligned New Business field sales team member to prospect for new business
* Build strong relationship with counterparts in the field sales and marketing organisations
* Work with Channel Partners to jointly prospect for new business and actively participate in call out days
* Act as the interface between the Regional Sales and Marketing organisations
* Report and take accountability for monthly results to the Team, Sales Managers and Marketing team


* Previous experience of working in a Sales environment, specifically in a Telemarketing, Telesales, IT Sales or Internal Sales capacity
* Experience of cold calling and/or the IT industry would be preferable
* Knowledge of Salesforce would be highly desirable
* Ability to communicate clearly and accurately in conversation and in writing
* Ability to learn and adopt Sales methodology such as Solution Selling
* Demonstrate a keen interest in technology and ability to grasp technical concepts relating to security
* Highly motivated and target-driven - keen to progress within sales career
* Articulate with a high level of professionalism
* Well organised and able to plan workload for success
* Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Word, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint are a must

This is a full-time, permanent position - working Monday - Friday, 9am - 5.30pm
