Remuneration: £38,000 Neg. + 10% Bonus

The role of the Specification Sales Manager – Building Services & Heating Systems will involve:

• Field sales specification role, selling heat metering, heating controls and district heating systems
• 60-70% of your time getting specified with local authorities, housing associations and consulting engineers
• 30-40% selling to and managing relationships with installers, maintenance contractors, DLOs (direct labour organisations) and major plumbing & heating contractors
• Looking after approximately 20/30 projects at any one time
• Responsible for approx. 25 existing local council specifiers in the North West from day one, 250+ to approach
• Targeted to achieve around £1million turnover per annum after 1st year
• Projects from £4,000 up to £1m+
• Mix of upgrade / refurbishment and new build projects
• Following up on Barber ABI leads and project leads from the office
• Majority of your time will be spent generating new business
• Managing projects lasting anything from 12-18 months per project
• Four days a week on the road, one day a week (Friday) working from home - administration

The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager Building Services & Heating Systems with:

• Proven technical building services specification field sales track record, preferably with heating systems knowledge
• Ideally understands management system such as heat metering, district heating, heating controls, security automation, lighting automation systems etc
• Must have won specifications with local authorities, councils, housing associations or consulting engineers
• Comfortable with a technical sell, experience in a related plumbing & heating trade would be advantageous
• A true door opener, who is self reliant
• Knowledge of heat metering or district heating systems is not essential as full product training will be provided
• Contacts within consulting engineers or large developers is preferable
• Able to deal with multiple complex projects at the same time
• Enthusiastic, hungry and comfortable working with an evolving business
