Work pattern Mon- Fri ( 11.00am -17.00pm )

Purpose of role:

Coordination and provision of Sport and Personal and Healthy Lifestyle programmes. (Development through Sport, Leisure and Lifestyle programmes)

Person specification:

Key Technical Skills / Competencies:

• Effective delivery and supervision of operational / coaching activities and resources
• Ability to support Personal Development Skills and personalised Apprentice programmes.
• Demonstrable experience of delivering in one-to-one and small group situations
• Competent Sports Coach
• Champions the role of programme and project management in the organisation and maintains an effective relationship with the relevant Support/provision experts
• Literate in standard Microsoft Office applications.
• Must hold or be working Coaching and Sports qualifications.
• Develop and deliver the Network Rail Core Fitness Programme

Major Tasks and Activities:

• Demonstrate and support good practice through innovative personal support and learning strategies
• Promote the sharing of ideas and joined up working across the contracts to support objectives in becoming an “outstanding” provider.
• Supply and development of tailored support solutions to meet the needs of individual apprentices to develop fitness and stamina
• Reinforce and promote throughout the apprentice body the cultural values and ethos of our customers

Key Outputs/Deliverables:

• Carry out coaching for apprentices based around enhancing their performance and challenging selves
• Effective planning and scheduling of sports and fitness activities
• Measure distance travelled and provide feedback to apprentices 1:1 and through 10 Week review input
• Deliver schemes of work, session plans and support materials.
• Ensure all appropriate support resources are available for all activities and requests submitted in a timely manner.
• Timely and effective scheduling and writing Apprentice progress reports
• Support Apprentice Personal Development performance
• Deliver ad-hoc bespoke learning solutions when required
• Deliver/support programme activities such as Induction and Open Days
• Effectively manage own time and workload.
• Protect assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference
• Comply with the Data Protection Act 1998

Additional Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.
• Ensure Coaching and Mentoring delivery complies with all internal and external quality measures.
• Performance: creates a culture of high performance and people management and actively manages poor performance – Right first time approach.
• People: advocates a coaching style of apprentice development in order to deliver organisation objectives
• Partnering: champions a partnering approach to both business and people; knows and understands the key business value of partnering and applies it to both internal and external customers and stakeholders
• Fosters an organisational culture that is positive about change and committed to delivery of business objectives
