Improve quality and productivity working in a cross function environment to ensure all product requirements are taken into account from the initial product concept to the end of the products life cycle. You will enjoy the responsibility of ensuring that manufacturing solutions are delivered which meet and exceed cost, quality and schedule requirements meeting the company's vision of Delivering Global Excellence by Design.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead new programs / products through the NPI Process to ensure on cost, on time & to specification.
This includes Design Reviews, Drawing Reviews, and BOM and product verification.
Challenge both manufacturing and business processes.
Vendor support on manufacturing / design queries.
Establish recurring and non-recurring costs.
Analyse process issues.
Inform decisions using design for manufacture and assembly principles.
Define and design production line and workstation layout.
Identify all tools and fixtures required to manufacture the product to the specifications and tolerances required
Create standard operating procedures and manufacturing instructions.
Ensure a safe working environment is set and maintained.
Initiate and lead problem solving techniques.
Demonstrate that the manufacturing process selection can meet required costs, quality and cycle times.
Support with the changes required for both continuous improvement and mandatory requirements during this exciting time of growth and improvement of the business.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrate enthusiasm and a proactive approach to technical tasks and problem solving.
A relevant Degree or HNC in a manufacturing or engineering discipline and/or proven related experience.
2 + years’ experience in a comparable engineering role.
Relevant experience in implementing the principles of Lean Manufacturing.
Working knowledge in an assembly environment.
Experience of Defence and Aerospace procedures and regulations would be advantageous but not essential.
Familiarity with the use of 3D CAD systems (AutoCAD and Solidworks) would be advantageous but not essential.
