Stride is an award winning Division within the STR Group, recruiting for White collar and technical roles within the water Industry. Working with one of the biggest names in the industry, wanting to expand their team in the London .

Our client Has a need for an experienced Electrical Engineering Technician, who will have a background within the water industry. This role will be site based at one of the biggest Sewage Treatment works in the UK, ensuring that all electrical equipment on site are running safely and efficiently. The right candidate will need to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair as appropriate, electrical & mechanical plant equipment. You will be working with the maintenance team following robust maintenance plans as well as getting involved in minor installation projects, electrical fault finding and emergency breakdown repairs to ensure the plant operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Responsibilities:

This electrical engineering technician role will be working in a multi discipline team, with the following responsibilities:

Carry out scheduled planned maintenance work in compliance with company procedures in order to minimize plant breakdowns.

Investigate the nature of plant failures and subsequently carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to avoid interruptions to the process.

Carry out the repair and maintenance of electrical motor drive systems and associated control systems including Inverter drives.

Carry out the installations, refurbishment and commissioning of mechanical plant to specification and on time.

Investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carry out repairs during incidents.

Providing technical advice where appropriate; making reference to up to date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.

Participate in a stand-by rota following the relevant training.

Undergo CP2 training - working in confined spaces.

Requirements:

Electrically qualified technician

Experience and working knowledge of large pumps, actuated valves, electronic control systems such as VSD's and 3 phase electrical switch gear is essential.

Computer literacy and the ability to input data on bespoke software is required.

Valid Driving Licence
