Instrument Calibration Manager/ Calibration laboratory Manager – UKAS calibration laboratory

My client, a highly respected research facility has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Manager to lead the test and calibration activities within its UKAS accredited instrument calibration laboratory in Bracknell.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of the test and calibration laboratory according to business objectives and in accordance with ISO:9001 and ISO:17025 quality standards.

Your key duties will include:

Preparing and providing reports for senior management assessing the business performance.
Managing a small laboratory and administration team (managing performance, training and procedure guidance).
Maintaining consistent high levels of customer satisfaction using standard metrics from ISO:9001 protocol.
Providing technical expertise during onsite customer visits, meetings and supporting training events and exhibitions as required.
Ensuring continued conformity with ISO:9001 and ISO:17025 (UKAS) quality standards.
Contributing to the company best practice and continuous improvement with your innovative and business developing ideas.

The successful candidate will possess a degree in mechanical engineering or related subject, along

Essential requirements:

·Prior supervisory experience in an ISO 17025 laboratory.

·Previous experience as a UKAS signatory in any of the metrological fields of temperature, pressure, humidity or electrical.

·Education to a HNC / HND or equivalent in a technical / engineering field.

·Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 17025 including the production of uncertainty budgets.

·Strong administrative, communication and PC skills (MS office suite).

You will also need to be living within a reasonable commute of Bracknell.

Please note, we are NOT looking for wet chemistry/pharmaceutical or related backgrounds, as this is as instrument test and calibration environment.
