Graduate Sales Engineer / Graduate Technical Sales Engineer required for exciting opportunity with international manufacturer of machinery for the food industry.  

This is a great opportunity for a degree educated engineer looking to build on your sales experience and have the opportunity to work for a successful and growing company who design and manufacture machinery for the food industry. 

Working closely with the Sales Director you will be given excellent training both in the UK and US offices. 

The European facilities opened in 2012, there  is a currently a team of circa 10 across the design and build of the machinery and this role is being created to support further growth.

As Graduate Sales Engineer your time will be split between being field based seeing customers and supporting with the preparation of proposals in the office.

Supplying to all major food companies manufacturing dairy related products you will be working closely with the customer engineering and project managers to understand their needs and applications and to be able to technically talk about the different machinery and options.

Privately owned and having been established for over 50 years they have a great reputation, we have worked closely with them for a number of years and there is lots of ongoing training both in the UK and US.

The company are looking to recruit someone who would like a career in selling capital equipment, all of the machinery is supplied to food manufacturers.

Ideally based within 2 hours of Birmingham (Wolverhampton, Coventry, Redditch, Worcester, Kidderminster, Cheltenham, Bristol, Gloucester, Rugby, Northampton, Leicester, Warwick, Stafford, Cannock) your time will be split 1/2 days a week in the office and the rest field based with customers.

Responsibilities will include:

- Responding to customer enquiries both via phone and e-mail for machines and visiting them to gain a good understanding of their needs.
- Building relationships with various customer stakeholders including engineering and procurement.
- Understanding customer applications and correctly specify appropriate machinery.
- Write of proposals including technical and commercial information.
- Securing order and delivering against sales targets.
- Attending marketing and networking events as required and building the company brand across the UK.

As a sales engineer you will:

- Be qualified to HNC or above in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Experience selling engineering components, systems, machinery 
- An interest in capital equipment and interest in selling to the sector 
- Full UK driving license
