A professional services company based in Watford are seeking a HR Assistant to join their HR Shared Services team. You will be providing advice and guidance to clients, ensuring that the core service deliverables are met to an exceptional standard.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with HR Systems such as SAP, have a passion for first class service and be able to manage their own workload in a relevant administrative role in a customer facing environment.

Core responsibilities

* Develop and maintain strong client relationships with the clients, specifically our Leaders, HR Business Contacts and our colleagues within the HR Centre's of Excellence, Finance, Payroll and Benefits teams, ensuring that their expectations are managed and met, maintaining an effective level of communication to ensure that they feel well informed;
* Develop knowledge of HR policy and practice so that incoming work can be processed and queries resolved at the first point of contact, keeping up to date with any legislative, policy or process changes;
* Responsible for inputting and updating information onto the Firm's SAP HR system, ensuring all relevant fields are accurately completed in line with relevant payroll deadlines and client expectations;
* Coach less experienced colleagues and new joiners on key policies and processes and our documented 'Ways of Working', providing guidance as appropriate;
* In addition to your designated HR process group you will be expected to take on additional responsibilities for project work and processes that fall outside of the key process

Employee Lifecycle Team

* Process internal transfers and secondments by updating SAP and producing emails from correspondence;
* Manage the extension and termination processes for employees on Fixed Term
* Contracts (FTCs), ensuring PLs adhere to guidelines, producing necessary letters and updating the SAP system accordingly;
* Process resignations via the Appian system, updating SAP, sending correspondence to all parties and identifying employees eligible for exit interviews;
* Manage retirement and death in service cases with sensitivity;
* Provide support to HR Business Contacts with redundancy programmes, including the preparation of compromise agreements and the provision of employee Information;
* Manage maternity cases from the commencement of maternity leave through to the return to work, providing advice and assistance on the policy and process, ensuring that every maternity leaver has a positive experience and is provided with useful and timely information about their entitlements;
* Develop a comprehensive understanding of flexible working policy and portfolio of options available, including job shares, part-time working, home working, and annualised days to advise clients;
* Respond to requests for flexible working: calculate entitlements, produce letters and update SAP with new working arrangements;
* Process requests for other family-friendly processes including parental leave, paternity leave, adoption and fostering leave;
