An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a prestigious organisation based in Kent.
Seeking an IT Service Manager, the successful applicant will play a vital role in establishing IT Shared Services whilst building strong, working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

The role will suit a proven IT manager, ideally from a Financial Services regulated background, who has excellent communications skills and experience of managing large 3rd party relationships who provide key services to the organisation.

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:
o Record of achieving outstanding productivity and quality in IT development projects and for delivery to budget and timescale.
o Broad commercial knowledge, typically gained in blue chip UK enterprises. Exposure to a wide range of commercial activities with input to strategic business issues at a senior level.
o Competent in the role of Leader/Coach with proven skills in building capability in team members
o Recognised as a manager who can readily adapt to and implement change in processes, procedures and organisational structure.
o Demonstrable experience in working across multiple teams, both internal and external to the organisation, to delivery unrivalled service
o Fully conversant with managing services within a governed delivery framework
o Experience of managing customer services to SLAs & OLAs
o Proven Project Management experience and knowledge of PRINCE2 and AGILE project methodology
o Thorough understanding of relevant technologies underpinning Managed Services
o Confident in the use of Service Management reporting tools for all assigned accounts
o Exceptional planning and organisation skills.
o Record of achieving outstanding productivity and quality in IT service management
o Demonstrable and proven experience in producing suitable and accurate service management reporting outputs.
o Broad commercial knowledge, typically gained in blue chip UK enterprises and preferably in the Insurance/Financial sector. Exposure to a wide range of commercial activities with input to strategic business issues at a senior level.

Education and Qualifications:
o ITIL V2/V3 or similar qualification is preferred.
o Educated to A-level or equivalent, degree level preferred.

Role Overview
The main responsibility of the role is governance across all areas of the IT services including service management and incident management, continual service improvement and customer satisfaction.

As a Service Manager, you will help bridge the gap between the business and IT to help deliver high levels of service management. You will act as a customer advocate on behalf of the entire IT function, ensuring that customer needs and expectations are understood and properly translated to operational parameters.

This role is also expected to have a level of knowledge and experience to act as trusted advisor in recommending improvements to operational activities that will enhance service robustness and reliability.
