Job Title – Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Days)

Shifts – Monday to Friday (8am to 4:30pm)

Location – Peterborough

Salary - £38358 + overtime.

Pension up to 10% employer contribution.

The Company

Our client is specialises in the manufacture of products for the construction market. With sites across the UK, this multi-billion pound company are looking to recruit two Electrically Maintenance Engineers to join their well-established Engineering team.

Their Peterborough site is comprised of both a Quarry and Cement works, producing 1.5 million tons of Cement a year from their fully automated production site. Established in the 1920’s the site employs over 130 staff across Production and Engineering.

The Role

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be primarily responsible for completing tasks from the Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule, along with assisting with Continuous Improvement and Installation projects across the site. When required the Electrical Maintenance Engineer would assist the Shift Engineers with any large scale breakdowns that occur.

The production equipment comprises of millers, crushers, mixers, conveyors a multi fuel kiln (coal, biomass and refuge) and fully automated packaging lines. The cinder, ash and clinker is harvested from the Kiln and ground down to be re-used in the cement mixes they produce (cement using slag and clinker has higher strength, flexibility and thermal properties than standard cement, plus has a much lower carbon foot print).

Day the day the Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be performing electrical safety checks on voltages from 33KV down to control voltages on PLC systems, fault finding on PLC systems against electrical drawings through to input / outputs, changing out worn or damaged electrical component and full re-wires.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

* Must have previous experience working as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer.
* Must have 16th edition as a minimum, ideally 17th Edition.
* Must have a recognised Electrical Qualification (ONC, HNC, HND, City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ and/or Apprenticeship).
* Must be able to read electrical drawings and fault find using a multimeter.
* Must have previous equipment working within a heavy industry (i.e. – Aggregates, Bricks, Cement, Quarry, Mining, Foundry, Steel, etc).
* Must have experience working with HV systems (33KV).
