Shift - 4 on 6 off

Our exclusive client are a global manufacturing business who have recently made significant investment in a new site in the Skelmersdale area. They now have an opportunity for a highly skilled Shift Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join them at this exciting time at the start of a new venture.

This position is responsible for defined maintenance activities on the manufacturing site. The role maintains the machines based on preventive and predictive maintenance concept.

The main responsibilities of this position are as follows:

Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the technology in their area of responsibility

- Ensure that all electrical instrumentation and control equipment is operating correctly
- React quickly to faults an breakdowns and repair to a high level
- Monitor machinery condition
- Works towards a zero-breakdown environment
- Reduce maintenance costs
- Monitor key maintenance KPIs such as breakdowns
- Use Maintenance Tools (SAP-PM, SOP`s) & train teams in the use of
- Root-cause analysis for technical and process problems

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate all or most of the following skills or experience:

- Significant E&I experience in manufacturing and process environment
- Completed a recognised electrical/instrument engineering apprenticeship preferably with a City & Guilds or equivalent NVQ qualification
- Proven experience in maintaining complex automated manufacturing systems and equipment.
- Excellent trouble shooting skill, able to plan and work to tight timelines while managing several tasks
- Experience of PLC, DCS & QCS systems
- Experience in panel wiring
- Knowledge of process instrumentation
- Knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic components
