Our client, a national building services firm are currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for Manchester. The successful candidate will manage commercial and contractual matters as required.

Personal Qualities

o A person whose attitudes, conduct and demeanour reflects our client's values and who is able to effectively represent the company;

o A person who is accustomed to working with senior management and stakeholders;

o A person able to work on their own initiative and be able to schedule the workload of the commercial team to meet priorities;

o An experienced professional with projects exceeding £2m+ and £5m+ for the Senior role

o Strong negotiation skills and experience of managing key sub-contractors and suppliers

o Experienced in managing commercial staff and projects

o Is able to display knowledge of managing tender processes and possess the skills to handle complex contract negotiations.

o ARICS and/or Degree in Quantity Surveying.

Responsibilities:

o Managing works orders received from our client

o Managing, instigating and monitoring contract correspondence

o Managing Sub-contract orders, applications and payments

o Managing preparation and submission of payment applications to the client

o Processing commercial data in Excel and producing fiscal reports

o Management of tender processes and contract negotiations.
