Job Purpose:
We currently have an opportunity to join an exciting team in Network Operations Directorate. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fast initial response to Cat A emergency situations regarding service terminations, and where appropriate ‘no supply' calls and other abnormalities which occur on the Distribution System.

Principal Accountabilities:
-Ensure rapid and safe response to emergency calls to emergency issues called in by Meter Operators as directed by Network Operations or local office primarily supporting the Smart Meter rollout.
-Meeting Smart Intervention Emergency response SLA’s, and achieving excellent feedback from customer and supplier survey scores.
-Provide regular updates to stakeholders via call, text or mobile electronic hand held devices to provide excellent customer service.
-Provide timely and accurate information on service termination defect condition and requirements to correct, providing a clear journey to completion for the customer booking follow up appointments as required.
-Provide advice and support to local Meter Operators, updating on actions taken and considering options for them to change the meter same day.
-Carry out LV Authorised Person (AP) duties.
-Provide support during System Emergencies and times of high fault occurrences
-Carry out idle service inspections

Nature & Scope:
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a responsible and safe approach to unplanned hazardous situations. They will be required to deal professionally with members of the public, emergency services and local authorities when representing UK Power Networks in emergency situations. They will work as part of a team covering Monday to Saturday as required with core hours between 8am – 8pm

24-hour shift work may be required in the future.

Competencies, Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:
The successful candidate will preferably have a meter operator or electrician background with at least 5 years’ experience. Training will be offered to all staff to be able to identify and/or rectify customer internal wiring/metering issues, LV network faults, installation of temporary LV generators. Technically competent, they are likely to be qualified up to a minimum of C&G 232 or 2339 equivalent.

-To be able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, manage their own workload and be self-reliant.
-Hold a Clean UK Driving Licence
-Have a good understanding of standard IT programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

If the successful candidate does not possess the necessary qualifications, they would be appointed to an alternative lower indicative salary range. A clear development plan would be agreed to enable the successful candidate to progress to the correct indicative salary.
