My client has an amazing opportunity for a experienced caseworker to join their team based in Leeds. You must have knowledge and fully accredited in Immigration/Asylum law procedures and have practiced within this sector.

They are looking for the idea candidate who can undertake casework and manage a caseload up to level of competence/accreditation.

To provide written and verbal representation, including advocacy in court, for clients seeking assistance in the Immigration/Asylum law field in accordance with Legal Aid Specialist Quality Mark Standards, legal policy, in preparation and management of applications to the Home Office, and to advise clients regarding procedures and practice.

Main Duties:

Liaise with Immigration Authorities, other agencies, and groups as required, conducting interview and giving advice to clients Immigration/Asylum law, procedure, and practice. Provide guidance to clients on completion of documents.

Attend clients in prison and detention centres and surgeries on occasions where appropriate. Meet specified casework and other targets as set by Supervisor. Supervise support staff when they provide direct administrative and secretarial support.

Undertake outreach work as required by Management, including liaising with ethnic communities, delivering talks and presentations to groups, and visiting other groups and centres as appropriate. Work from various locations as reasonably required by management.
