Our client is a leader in finishing, decorating and assembly of automotive plastic components and due to recent expansion for production they are currently seeking a Jig Management Controller to join our highly successful manufacturing team.

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will work closely with the production, planning and maintenance teams and will be responsible for the co-ordination and control of the jig management process between sites, ensuring a continuous supply of jigs to the Production areas to meet customer orders and demand.

This role involves the following key duties and responsibilities:

* Conduct inspections of Jigs, establishing any faults, required maintenance, etc.
* Ensure all jigs are cleaned and maintained to a high quality standard before use within the Production area.
* Stand in for the jig maintenance technician when required.
* Co-ordinate and execute the transfer of all jigs between all sites on time including the operation of an FLT and appropriate company vehicle.
* Manage the introduction of new jigs into the jig management process.
* Maintain and improve upon existing 5's and housekeeping procedures.
* Ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the jig management system.
* To plan and assign work for the Jig Maintenance Technician, including any training, coaching, performance management, and development reviews.
* Update and maintain the tooling register.
* Communicate daily updates for both sites at the daily production meetings.
* Monitor the stock levels of cleaning materials/substances, gas canisters and other consumables required for the area, and arrange for purchase of such items as required.
* Implement and adhere to Health & Safety initiatives/responsibilities within working area.
* Liaise with maintenance, production and production planning as appropriate.
* Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems, together with proposing potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e. continuous improvements, in both the set-up of the new Jig Welding/Fabrication Unit and on an ongoing basis.
* Ensuring that all activities and objectives are in line with the company's business plan/objectives and quality standards and meet with health and safety, legal stipulations, environment policies and duty of care.

Candidates for this position must be able to demonstrate excellent organisation skills and initiative as well as leadership skills. Excellent communication skills and a full UK driving licence are essential
