My client, a publisher and events company that specialise in health, social care, language teaching and emergency service, as well as their online portfolio including both ecommerce and editorial-based sites.

Relying mainly on data to drive marketing activity, and market research as well as a strong sales pipelines. Data is therefore the core of this organisation, and is key to its commercial success.

The Role:
This function is all about helping us to understand our business through our data.
You would need to be an expert manipulator of data with a real feel and passion for analytics. You will develop, deliver and maintain models so you can create accurate and easy to understand reports, and deliver meaningful, actionable information to colleagues. This role and the work produced will have a huge influence on business decisions, so it is important you not only get it right, but that you have the curiosity to dig deep and find insight.
You also need to be comfortable talking with and influencing people across the business.
You will also need to ensure we operate within GDPR requirements.

Job tasks
• Customer segmentation and trend reporting
• Reporting on marketing campaigns
• Project management of integration of SQL databases, Microsoft
Dynamics, .net and website platform, Access databases, Google
Analytics and email marketing software
• Sourcing, researching uploading new data
• Account managing/liaising with internal departments (IT, customer
services, marketing) and suppliers, to include: CRM system and third-
party data suppliers
• Developing and delivering systems to streamline processes and drive
the business forward
• Keeping abreast of GDPR and ensuring best practice is maintained in
the business.

Areas of responsibility
• Responsible for ensuring the CRM system is kept up to date with new
software releases, and testing these before software release goes live
• Responsible for overall data quality and ensuring data is cleaned
• Responsible for any integration projects that are deemed necessary to
improve efficiency
• Responsible for sourcing new data, either by suggesting new data
acquisition practices via inbound marketing or by researching new
sources of data

Essential skills and qualifications
• SQL, .net frameworks
• Microsoft Dynamics
• Access databases
• Crystal reports
• Experience of advising on data protection requirements and legislation
• A strong communicator – able to produce reports that deliver
customer insight
• Good understanding of what drives a commercial environment
• Ability to deliver insight into behavioural and transactional customer
data to improve business performance
• Lateral thinking; good at problem-solving,
• Self-motivated
• Able to multi task
• Aptitude for producing, analysing, recording and reporting on statistics

Desirable skills and qualifications:

Experience of email marketing software, Google Analytics
Conversant in best and latest practice for social and digital media
Experience of working with a marketing team
Transferring existing data to a new CRM system
Interested in or prior experience of working in health, social care,
education, or community safety sectors
