I am currently working on behalf of a market leading healthcare provider that is seeking to appoint an Associate Specialist (Adolescent Mental Health) into one of their private hospital facilities in Norwich.

The hospital itself specialises in the provision of care for young people aged 12 to 18. The Hospital accommodates service users who have a range of mental health disorders and those who are detained under the Mental Health Act. The hospital is seeking to build on their existing multidisciplinary team by making a number of key appointment including an Associate Specialist who is experienced in adolescent care to join a psychiatric team in delivering care to a growing caseload.

The successful applicant will be expected to participate actively in the everyday mental health care of young people within the Hospital. You will work together with colleagues to coordinate the multidisciplinary assessment and treatment process to ensure high quality care at all times. Also you will be responsible for providing a clinical service in conjunction with your colleagues and provide support to the consultant psychiatrist in the development of services.

The Main Responsibilities include:

- Working with the team offering psychiatric-medical input in the assessment, treatment and care management of the patients
- Providing appropriate cross-cover for colleagues
- Clinically you will conduct comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluations in collaboration with the rest of the psychiatric team
- Diagnostic and treatment reviews and mental and physical treatment administration
- Reviews of patients in preparation for CPA reviews and participation in CPA reviews

Applicants looking to apply should:

- Hold full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- Be approved under section 12 (2) Mental Health Act
- Be on the specialist register for child and adolescent psychiatry
- Have an understanding of the principles of research
- Comply with relevant regulatory and statutory requirements

Salary - 80-85k
