Commissioning Support Manager

Location: Waterbeach, North Cambridge

Hours: Full time, permanent

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000p.a. Dependant on experience and qualifications

My client, a technical / engineering company based in Waterbeach, North Cambridge is looking for a dynamic and pro-active individual to join the company's technical team as the Service and Support Manager.

Main duties:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role encompasses:

* Line managing two commissioning/technical support engineers
* Managing the activities of the engineers - support (via our help desk), commissioning, arranging travel and health and safety
* Responsibility for spares and service
* On occasions, providing service/commissioning backup.

Responsibilities include:

* Overseeing technical support offered by the company for customers and agents and dealing directly with them at their level of competence
* Referring those requiring additional technical input to commissioning engineers or R&D engineering as required
* Liaising with the clients to plan and organise commissioning trips and liaising with partner organisations to provide additional commissioning services when required.
* Gathering appropriate information from the sales team and liaising with the production department where appropriate
* Overseeing the provision of spares and service to customers
* Recording and maintaining customer record details in the contact database system

Candidate requirements:

* Someone with a technical background and / or engineering skills are essential to successfully manage the 2 busy commissioning/technical support engineers
* Strong organisational, man-management and problem solving skills are required
* Good communication skills are essential, both in person and on the telephone
* Must be a team player as on occasions you will be providing service/commissioning backup
* Previous experience within a customer facing role is preferred, however sales experience is not essential
* Candidates must have experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
* Candidates must hold a full driving licence
