My client is a leading Rail Contractor supplying railway maintenance works & railway engineering. They have an enviable track record and expertise in the reconstruction and refurbishment of buildings, structures and earthworks. The client has a breadth and depth of civil, structural and geotechnical engineering knowledge hard-won from a continuously expanding portfolio of successful projects.

They are currently looking to recruit a Site Manager with experience in rail, civils and earthworks to join their team based in Sheffield.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required:

* Minimum 7 years experience of Civil Engineering construction project work
* Proven experience managing work sites and teams
* Previous experience working within a Railway Environment
* Civils background
* Earthworks experience
* Civil Engineering qualifications (BEng or HND)
* Railway Safety Training (PTS)
* SMSTS
* First Aid Qualification

Main Duties:

* Manage site operations on rail based civil engineering contracts.
* Plan, co-ordinate & motivate allocated personal and resources.
* Coordinate materials, plant and equipment.
* Prepare and implement site specific management plans to ensure site activities comply with the clients Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies.
* Provide guidance and practical advice to site personnel for the competent execution of the contract works.
* Liaise with the Project Manager and commercial team at all stages of the contract works.
* Monitor site progress, to be recorded on weekly reports summarising contract performance.
* Administer designated sites in accordance with the clients systems and procedures, maintaining site records in conjunction with the Site Supervisor/Foreman.
* Liaise with Client personnel as required.
* Maintain and develop client relationships on the basis of mutual trust and high standards of contract performance.
