Do you have a good understanding of manufacturing with experience of material supply and meeting the highest levels of service delivery? We are seeking an ambitious individual who is seeking a key development opportunity within the purchasing department reporting to the Supply Chain Manager you will be part of an integral team of 3 responsible for the purchase of all materials and services with the defined parameters set by the Purchasing and Planning Manager.

It is envisaged that you hold qualifications in Procurement up to Diploma level (CIPS) however we would be interested to speak with part qualified candidates who have good experience within the supply chain/manufacturing together with good literacy and numeracy skills. Full training will be given and the company offers continuous support and development within the role.
Key Responsibilities
• Management of purchased inventory to give optimum balance between cost and service level.
• Effectively negotiate optimisation of prices, contracts and delivery times.
• Obtain quotations from appropriate suppliers for cost effectiveness, quality and timeliness of deliveries, ensuring delivery of materials in line with production planning.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers (In conjunction with Quality if applicable) to meet the company requirements.
• Visit and audit suppliers as deemed necessary
• Control stock levels and reorder quantities where applicable.
• Monitor and evaluate all suppliers for cost effectiveness, quality
• Complying with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Environmental.
• To perform any other purchasing tasks as assigned by the Purchasing and Planning Manager.

The company offers an attractive package to include the following:
• 8am to 4.30pm or 8.30am to 5pm Mon to Thurs / 8am to 1pm or 8.30am to 1.30pm Fri
• 25 days holiday
• Company Sick Pay after 12 months continuous service
• Company Pension Contribution of 7%
