The Shires at Stowe Court is part of the Acorn Care and Education Group, and is an independent residential children’s home in the village of Stretton (just off the A1 north of Stamford). The Shires at Stowe Court offers accommodation for two young people aged 11 to 19 who have autism, and who may have learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. Young people living at the home attend The Shires School in Stretton and are supported by staff from the home throughout the teaching day, providing a holistic approach to care and education.

We are looking for two care workers to join our team. The ideal candidates will have at least six months’ experience within a similar setting, a good understanding of autism and working towards or have a commitment to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (previously NVQ3).

All candidates will be required to display a commitment to promoting the safeguarding and well-being of our young people, have a willingness to participate in swimming, other activities and drive the company vehicles.

All posts are full time and the shift patterns cover on average a 45½ hour week, 2 days on, 2 days off (07:00-21:00) including weekends and bank holidays.
