Your New Role

As a Category Manager you will be tasked with managing, maintaining and developing supply agreements to achieve best value for money and good practice in non-pay expenditure. To co-ordinate and apply good procurement procedures and techniques to meet the business objectives of University with professional competence.

What you’ll need to succeed

Experience


• Professional Services Category experience 
• Having worked in a procurement environment for a five year period
• Experience of delivering significant savings and beneficial strategic change at organisational level
• Experience of influencing and engaging senior management on procurement related matters and be familiar with developing innovative solutions that meet the strategic requirement.
• Must be familiar with managing procurement led projects, understanding the financial and logistical controls requirement.
• Experience of managing and controlling budgets/resources/funding and an understanding of financial management procedures
• Competent in report writing.

Knowledge, skills & abilities
• Highly developed knowledge of procurement systems
• Good negotiation skills

Qualifications
• MCIPS qualified
