SEN Teaching Assistant Specification
This vacancy is designed for a passionate graduate who has an impressive academic record and a 2:1 or better in your degree and experience working with Primary aged children. You will be an exceptional role model to all pupils and be passionate about helping those with Special Educational Needs. The Headteacher wants to recruit a graduate with an inspiring character and the interest in potentially pursuing a career in teaching in the future. You must be a good listener, have exceptional attention to detail skills and be a reliable and trust worthy worker.
About the SEN Teaching Assistant Role
In this SEN Teaching Assistant position, you will be working across the entire school providing support as and where necessary. No matter what your background and amount of experience the school will ensure you are amply supported in many ways including providing you with a mentor who is hugely respected in the school. This position is ideal for a driven candidate who would like to challenge themselves by leading the class where the opportunity arises. Part of your role will include developing a great working relationship with the teacher as you both come to terms with how best to utilise resources including a soft play area and interactive play areas for example. Additional duties will include working with teachers and support staff to help run one of the many extra-curricular activities on offer at the school.
Found in Braintree, this recently renovated primary offers state of the art learning facilities including a swimming pool and a sensory room. It has a strong SEN department who fully support their students in all areas of development. It was considered 'Good' by Ofsted in its last inspection and has some great connections with the community.
