Interim Payroll Manager
Firm of Accountants in London are looking for an Interim Payroll Manager who is a payroll professional with experience on change management and project management, for a 12 month assignment.
Overall purpose of role:
To assist the incumbent Payroll Manager and the Partner i/c Payroll in ensuring the team delivers outstanding Payroll services both to their external clients. This role will pay particular attention to the systems, processes and output of the team. Development and management of individuals within the team to allow them to thrive in a period of change is also vital.
The CMP will work with the existing Payroll Manager to ensure that the systems, procedures and output of the Payroll team are all at a level which reflects the company's values, commitments to client service and the level 2 competencies.
Higher level services include working on the most complex and demanding clients; being involved in the sign off payments using the BACS system and provision of these deliverables in an accurate and timely way. There will be involvement in line managing the PA's and generally assisting with their development; assisting with the set-up of new clients and developing higher level skills in terms of the use of the payroll software.
It is an essential part of the role that a you build strong relationships with clients at all levels and of differing cultures and personalities. Communication within the wider team is also key to the successful completion of this role.
The role requires significant interaction with both the team and client staff. In the team there will be interaction with Payroll Supervisors and Administrators and with the wider HR and accounting teams who may work on the same clients. Contacts at the client will range from administrators to controller and/or CFO level staff.
The Payroll team is a genuinely supportive and collaborative working environment and this role will be a significant part of generating and maintaining this atmosphere. Attributes required specifically for this role:
Hands-on Payroll experience, ideally within a client servicing environment.
A track record of process improvement within a Payroll, HR or Finance Department.
Excellent Project Manager.
A superb communicator and demonstrable leadership qualities.
