Data Platform Technical Lead

Based in Wimbledon

In this role you will report to the Head of Application Development and be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership to assist the Data Platform Delivery Team with the detailed design, development and optimisation of ETL jobs that provide data to and from our Enterprise Data Warehouse and other systems within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review the business requirements and translate into ETL rules, documenting the detail design required to hand off to developers
  • Design the technical ETL solution and develop the solution with IBM DataStage
  • Design the physical data model in collaboration with the data architect and database administrator
  • Define the scheduling requirements for ETL processes in the data warehouse
  • Designing and Developing customised reporting through to Composite (Cisco Information Server)
  • Develop and test (unit test, functional test and data profiling) the ETL processes
  • Performance tune ETL processes
  • Prepare the releases and installation instructions
  • Provide documentation and support other developers in the team
  • Keep abreast of major changes in the industry (IT), and make recommendations to support business improvement and development, through the IT strategy.

To be successful in this role you will need the following technical knowledge and skillset:

  • Expert experience in development and deploying applications using IBM Data Stage.
  • Ability to read/write complex SQL statements.
  • IBM InfoSphere Quality Stage
  • Experience in configuring IBM Tivoli Work Scheduler
  • Experience with IBM Address Verification
  • Expertise in Composite
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise.
  • Ability to train other developers in technology skills
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions involving Data Warehouse and Data Marts
  • Extensive experience in ETL development (DataStage required).
