Role Title:Digital Account Manager

Reports to: Head of Digital

Line Reports: 2 xAccount Executives

Location: 212 Curtain House, 134-146 Curtain Road London, EC2A 3AR

Requirement:Full time, 40 hours per week

Salary: £26-30k p/a based on experience, 3-month probation period

Benefits: 21 days annual leave, annual profit share scheme

The Role:

We are an award-winning food & drink and hospitality communications agency in its eighth year of business and going through an exciting period of growth. In light of this, we need an experienced, innovative and skilled Digital Account Manager to support the division’s expansion.

Scope of the Role:

  • Content strategy and creation
  • Community management
  • Project management
  • Reporting and social media analytics
  • New business

Main Responsibilities

Content Strategy and Creation:

  • Take a lead role in directing the content strategy
  • Liaise with the client to discuss and ensure key focuses are incorporated within the strategy
  • Sign off and edit the monthly social media schedule prior to clients’ receipt
  • Oversee and advise on influencer outreach, sourcing influencers based on client requirements
  • Responsible for the management of the videographer and photographer

Community Management:

  • Monitor Community Management carried out by Account Executives
  • Advise on contentious comments and provide direction in the drafting of responses including crisis management
  • Oversee implementation of the Follower Generation Strategy
  • Carry out bidaily checks of the accounts
  • Liaise with the client on the community management process


  • Advise and sign off the weekly and monthly reports highlighting key learnings and advising the team on how to implement these for the client
  • Lead all social media monthly meetings
  • Drive and implement analysis of social media campaigns for internal purposes
  • Responsible for keeping KPI documents updated and the team up to date withtargets, for quarterly evaluation
  • Sign off individual 'sell-backs’ of campaign successes on an ad hoc basis tosupport the formal reporting structure
  • Define and manage client expectations while simultaneously maintaining the ongoing relationship by:

o Having a complete understanding of the client’s business, products and services

o Taking a lead role in handling client queries and advising on current and future strategies

o Leading client meetings, preserving the reputation of Palm PR and maintaining a high level of credibility

Events and Third-Party Relations:

  • Oversee the management of events
  • Identify and establish connections with key influencers, driving the relationship and ensuring high quality content
  • Advise and source third parties for events
  • Create timelines for the event as part of the social media strategy
  • Manage client expectations on the outcome of events
  • Update the Head of Division on the status of social media campaigns, identifying risks and opportunities

New Business:

  • Generate new business opportunities that are aligned with Palm PR’s strategy
  • Brainstorm innovative and creative campaigns that are then prepared and fit to pitch to the client
  • Support the new business efforts of Palm PR’s Food & Drink and Hospitality Divisions
  • Confidently pitch to the client both on social media and new proposals
  • Contribute to pitches using the latest social media trends and campaigns

Person Specification


  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience is essential
  • Qualifications from recognised professional bodies such as CIPR are desirable


  • Minimum 3yrs experience in a Digital Account Management role or similar with transferrable skills is essential
  • At least one year’s experience in line management
  • Proven track record of managing multiple accounts of recognisable brands is essential, in the food & drink and hospitality industries is desirable
  • Demonstrable success in account growth and generating new business is essential
  • Experience in the development and delivery of social media strategies is essential

Knowledge, Skills and Qualities:

  • Excellent understanding of the social media landscape and abreast of developing trends
  • An in depth understanding of the food and drink and hospitality industries and their social media presence
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills
  • Can grasp new concepts and apply to the needs of the Palm PR and its clients
  • Sound numeracy with the ability to withdraw insight from complex data
  • Excellent research skills that can evolve new information into practical ideas for content and campaigns
  • Excellent presentation skills, able to convey complex ideas in a palatable and compelling way
  • Confident and innovative, able to think outside the box and propose new ways of working
