Position Summary

The Research Analyst position is a key role, enabling strong candidates to get immersed in a trading environment, utilise core analytical skills, leverage and develop the firm’s various proprietary software and integrate into the Vitol culture and organisation.

The Research Analyst will have responsibility for:

  • Produce weekly market reports with analysis on key points
  • Assist in maintaining global supply and demand models
  • Forecast modelling based on fundamentals and econometrics
  • Compile information from various sources and maintain the firm’s databases
  • Produce presentations based on team analysis to present to brokers
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis as required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate degree in an energy trading related discipline with an excellent academic record Experience in a commercial/analytical role involving trade execution at a commodities firm
  • An understanding of refining, blending, oil storage and financial derivatives
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capability with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA
  • Proficiency in French and Russian required

Salary between £35-40K
