Our Client, an established, well respected and successful Consultancy based in Central London, is enjoying sustainable growth by advising and supporting Clients on major infrastructure projects and currently needs a number of Quantity Surveyors to join their expanding team.

You will be working on some of the largest and most iconic transport and infrastructure projects in the South East, and helping deliver major investments on the busiest transport hub developments in London.

For many of the assignments, you will be working within the Client Management Teams on major overground/underground rail and infrastructure projects, including Crossrail, HS2, Thameslink and key mainline station redevelopment and remodelling projects.

There is also the opportunity to work on unique public infrastructure construction projects such as Thames Tideway and the London Garden Bridge project, and you will assist the Lead Commercial Managers in providing competent and professional quantity surveying support.

Typical Work Activities / Key Accountabilities
Estimating and Cost Planning
Whole life costing
Risk management, value management and cost control
Benchmarking and Data Capture
Advising on procurement strategy
Contract advise
Preparing tender and contract documents, including the pre-qualification process, ITT process, bills of quantities
Post tender queries, analysis, recommendation and negotiation
Contract preparation
Quantification and costing of construction work
Contract procedures
Post contract cost control and reporting
Commercial management of projects
Allocating work to subcontractors
Providing advice on contractual claims
Valuing completed work and arranging payments
Advise on insurance, bonds and warranties
Maintaining a Client focused professional service.

Personal
Able to create and maintain strong client relationships.
Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to our clients’ environments, including working individually; as part of a team; and lead, develop, manage and motivate teams in a changing environment.

Able to manage numerous activities / different projects simultaneously - both short and long term.

Possess excellent interpersonal skill, both verbal and written, including, problem solving and negotiating skills, management of meetings and presentations.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Educated to degree standard in quantity surveying or related subjects.
A minimum of 5 – 10 years relevant quantity surveying experience.
Be conversant with contract administration, standard methods of measurement and forms of contract currently used within the Building and Civil Engineering Industry.
Well developed communication and negotiating skills.
Capacity to build and maintain client relationships.
Computer literate and a strong ability in using the Microsoft Office suite of products.
NEC contract years of experience
Underground experience – preferable target cost

Desirable:
Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional institute (RICS / MICES), chartered status.
