First Line Support / IT support /Helpdesk technician

Hancock and Parsons are seeking an IT support/Helpdesk technician to join a successful Accountancy, Audit and Tax solutions company. This is a permanent position offering up to £22k dependent on experience. The position is office based in Chelmsford, although your initial training will be based in the Colchester office.

The role

IT Support/Helpdesk technician will manage the Helpdesk and take responsibility for all the workstations in the business. In order and prepare them for use and maintain them in the field; including all the software used by the Accountants and others. With a small team in such a diverse environment, day to day support can be quite intense.

This role will be exclusively 1st line support to start, but the client wants all our staff to become super-techies and, with their help, start a career as a real IT specialist.

Essential Skills

To be considered for this role you must have the following experience:

  • Installing/Configuring Windows 10
  • Installing/Configuring Office 2016 and Office 365
  • Knowledge of setting up Wi-Fi
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networks
  • HP Printers and printer drivers.
  • Knowledge of Exchange Server would be beneficial, but not necessary.
  • Any knowledge of accounting software suites would be beneficial, but not necessary.
  • A driving licence is required for the role.
