Reed Accountancy are proud to working with a reputable company in central Ipswich to recruit for a senior Payroll Assistant. The role will be working as part of a small team to help provide the Company with a first class professional payroll service, meeting the needs of the business and changing focus in-line with, and according to, developing business requirements.

The role will involve high volume payroll of  400+ employees across 12 UK offices. The ideal applicant will have processed 400+ employees and have recent Payroll knowledge, including all new legislation and payroll admin. 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

•Provide support for the payroll function and associated tasks and activities, eg. maintain and update Sage Payroll, produce reports for Accounts. End of Year reporting including production of P60’s and P11D’s.

•Responsible for checking weekly expense payments processed by Accounts prior to HR authorisation.

•Responsible for giving advice and guidance on statutory pay and leave; sickness, maternity, paternity, adoption and parental.

•Process documentation for; new starters, salary increases, promotions, changes to personal details and leavers in accordance with HR procedures.

•Assist with implementation of annual pay review as required.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

• Experience in comparable role.
• CPP (Certificate Personnel Practice) qualified.
• Education to GCSE grade C, “O” Level or equivalent in at least five subjects, including maths and English.
• Recognised qualification in typing and/or word processing, RSA II or equivalent.
• Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

This role is a maternity contract, and is due to start in July 2017, for a lengthy handover.
