Performance Attribution & Risk Analyst sought for a London based investment management firm. This is a part time / flexible role.

About The Role

To provide accurate and comprehensive data analysis on the performance and attribution of funds generating high specification standardised and bespoke reporting for internal and external use.

Day to day activities include gathering the data and communication of investment performance to clients and internal management. Assist marketing staff in developing performance reports for client presentations. On request, providing bespoke analyses on the performance of specific portfolios versus benchmarks and/or market indices. Developing customised summaries, based on complex performance measurement techniques.

Individuals may occasional be asked to perform additional tasks or duties which may fall outside of the main role specification provided in order to meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Attribution:

  • Gathering, calculating and analysing investment performance data;

  • Analysing fund performance against agreed benchmarks;

  • Monitoring pricing and investment performance of investments;

  • Monitoring market performance indicators;

  • Reporting to investment managers and client managers on investment performance, preparing reports and attribution graphs;

  • Reporting weekly on pooled fund performance;

  • Responding to ad hoc requests for performance and attribution information (including RFP’s) in a timely manner;

Risk:

  • Develop risk reporting Investment & Operational framework;

  • Complete risk appetite monitoring for funds and monitor fund synthetic risk indicators;

  • Identifying and assessing actual and potential risks against set parameters, through qualitative and quantitative analysis and using relevant benchmarking; gap analysis; scenario and process mapping techniques;

  • Create internal policies and produce risk management communications;

  • Continuously developing and improving performance analysis & risk reporting information;

  • Assist Compliance with IA / regulatory requirements;

  • Assisting the wider Operations team as necessary, in particular acting as support on Charles River; and other ad hoc tasks.

  • High level communication and presentation skills;

  • Excellent excel / VBA skills;

  • Financial modelling;

  • Excellent understanding of financial markets’ performance indicators;

  • Good understanding of valuation methodologies;

  • Strong business acumen;

  • 2 years plus experience in similar role;

  • Investment Management Certificate - desirable; and

  • Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement ('CIPM’) / CISI Risk in Financial Services / IRM Risk in Financial Services - desirable.
