Are you a student or recent graduate looking for summer work and an opportunity to use your SQL and data analysis skills?

We have immediate availability for a Data Analyst (SQL) to assist with our new contract in Surrey, based in Guildford (with some local travel and time on site at our office in Leatherhead).

We require someone who understand systems, can extract data and who enjoys data extraction and analysis. You’ll be working closely with our Business Analytics Manager on some key projects for our new contract as well as our established CAMHS contract.

Key tasks will include:

  • Undertaking analysis, interpretation and presentation of complex data and information to support planning and decision making

  • Providing bespoke support around patient data sets enabling operational teams to understand data about patients or groups of patients

  • Ensuring that the quality of the data being collected, analysed, summarised and presented to the customers both internally and externally is of a high standard and meets the requirements of all customers and in line with all governance and Data Protection requirements

  • Supporting with the design and delivering the monthly cycle of management and operational reporting providing analysis at service and pathway levels

You will need the following skills:

  • Hold or be working towards a degree or equivalent (ideally in a numerical or computer science related field), or have equivalent experience in this specialist area

  • Solid experience and skills in using Structured Query Language (MY SQL or MS SQL) to manipulate extracts and restructure data

  • Experience of using SQL techniques such as Views, Complex Queries, stored procedures and ETL

  • Experience of data management, analysis and interpretation

  • Advanced MS Excel skills including spreadsheet design and development, pivot tables and complex formulae

  • Tableau or similar BI tools Microsoft BI, Business objects etc. skills and experience

  • A high level of proficiency in MS Access, Word & PowerPoint

This experience may have been gained either through work experience, or your degree.

Experience of NHS or other healthcare health data sets, Microsoft BI stack, use of database extraction tools to develop complex queries (especially Microsoft SQL and MYSQL) and knowledge of the NHS data dictionary would be desirable but are not essential. Visio experience would also be useful, but is not essential.

We have an immediate requirement for a period of up to three months, but there may be permanent opportunities for the right candidate.
